Job Description


Voyager Miami is a commercial yacht charter company located in Miami Beach, FL. We provide our guests exceptional hospitality and world class experiences in and around Miami, Key West and throughout the Bahamas.

Responsibilities:

The first mate is the right hand man/woman of the captain, required to meet all requests of the captain and advise him when requested regarding all matters pertaining to the vessel and passengers. The mate must take direction from the captain and communicate any information to the passengers when necessary or directed. He/she is there to ensure the safety of the passengers by conducting safety demonstrations and to assist in emergencies. The mate is also responsible for maintenance tasks as directed or assigned captain of the vessel. He/she must ensure the vessel is ship shape, stocked, cleaned and ready to go. They are to assist passengers with embarkation and debarkation with departures and arrivals.

Essential functions:

  • Be prepared to begin work at scheduled time.

  • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.

  • Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers.

  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all common areas.

  • Load or unload materials from vessels.

  • Handle lines to moor vessels to pier.

  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality.

  • Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others.

Employment:

  • Part-time/part-time seasonal

Experience:

  • Maritime: 1- 3 years (Preferred)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Work authorization:

  • United States (Required)

License:

  • CPR/First Aid (Preferred)

  • Boaters Safety Course (Preferred)

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to endure long periods outside in the heat.

  • Have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
